Viterra has opened expressions of interest in harvest jobs across South Australia and western Victoria for the 2019/20 harvest. By submitting an expression of interest through the Viterra website, individuals are kept up to date with information on key dates, the recruitment process, the business’ activities and harvest.
Applications for a harvest job will open in early July this year with medicals and training following in the months after and work commencing in October or November.
Each year, Viterra increases its workforce significantly from October through to January to provide an efficient and flexible service to grower customers delivering their grain to a Viterra site.
Harvest workers play an important role at Viterra’s receival sites. A range of different roles are available including general grain handling, bunker operations, weighbridge operations, grain classification and supervisory roles. Jobs are hands on and will often work directly with grower and carrier customers to provide them with an excellent service.
A seasonal job with Viterra includes full training with no previous experience required. Everything required for a harvest job is provided and staff work in a supervised and supportive team environment.
Viterra provides opportunities for a range of different people from those looking to gain their first experience in a work environment through to people that have led teams and can take a supervisory position. Backpackers and travellers that want seasonal work are also encouraged to apply. Workers who are flexible with their location can also have the opportunity to travel with the harvest and work at different sites.
