Time to register your interest for a harvest job

Viterra is calling for registrations of interest from people who are looking to make great money and learn new skills in a supportive team environment while working the 2023/24 grain harvest.

Job seekers who register their interest on the Viterra website will be the first to know when applications open in late July, receiving an SMS and email notification.

Viterra employs around 1500 harvest workers each year across their sites in South Australia and western Victoria, to support Viterra’s permanent workforce of 800 ongoing employees and provide local growers with an efficient, high level of service during the busy harvest period.

The roles are ideal for those looking for a short-term opportunity, such as students looking for summer work outside of their studies, backpackers, retirees, people looking to explore regional South Australia and anyone wanting to gain work experience and learn new skills.

With the majority of Viterra’s sites based in regional areas, harvest workers can enjoy spending their free time traveling around the state and making the most of the beautiful scenery and experiences on offer in southern Australia.

The opportunities are open to anyone with no previous work experience required. Harvest work with Viterra pays above award rates and all necessary training is provided for the various roles from general grain handling to classification. Accommodation is also available in some areas.

Most harvest jobs are available from around October to January, subject to site location and harvest. There are also opportunities for ongoing work beyond the harvest period.

Viterra is proud to welcome back a large number of harvest workers season after season, with over 500 return workers last year.

Viterra is a major employer in regional communities and looks forward to welcoming new and returning workers to join its team for the upcoming harvest season.
