A modest 1,441 tonnes of grain was received into Viterra’s South Australian sites over the past month.
About 560,000 tonnes was shipped during the month of July, helping bring total bulk exports from Viterra ports to 6.4 million tonnes for the 2016/17 season.
Port Lincoln has passed 2 million tonnes of grain shipping and had its busiest October to July period in five years.
This achievement, coupled with grain shipped from Thevenard, has helped the Eyre Peninsula set a new record for total grain exports. More than 2.64 million tonnes of grain has been shipped from the region in 2016/17.
Viterra is still recruiting for harvest casuals to work at various sites across South Australia and western Victoria during the 2017/18 grain harvest.
