Monthly receivals report

Monday 1 March to Sunday 4 April 2021 report

  1 March - 4 April 2021 Total 2020/21 harvest**
Viterra total receivals* 16,364 tonnes 5,898,631 tonnes
Western region receivals 893 tonnes 1,764,711 tonnes
Central region receivals 4,064 tonnes 2,561,009 tonnes
Eastern region receivals*** 11,407 tonnes 1,572,911 tonnes

Viterra received over 16,000 tonnes of grain into our network last month as we continue to provide delivery options postharvest and welcome late grower loads. The majority of grain was delivered into sites in the Eastern region.

Strong demand for South Australian grain through the Viterra network has continued and we are focussing on moving grain through our network to meet shipping and domestic requirements.

Last month we released our postharvest survey results, through which we obtained positive feedback on our opening hours, classification, segregations and communications.

Since dynamic binning was introduced ahead of the 2018/19 harvest, ratings show that the service has had overall consistent survey ratings. Around $3.8 million in value was delivered this harvest to growers who were able to access higher grades through dynamic binning. More than double the number of tonnes were upgraded this season compared to last.

Growers’ responses showed they valued our new warehouse to cash service, rating it as very easy to use and that it makes it simpler to transfer grain to a cash price. More than 20 buyers posted prices to purchase grain and around 4000 transfers were completed.

Results from the survey also showed that the majority of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with our online platforms, and the communication received about site information, general business updates and safety.

Feedback shows that growers and carriers were pleased with the way Viterra responded to COVID-19 with very positive comments on being able to deliver during harvest while ensuring the safety of everyone.

With the majority of 2020/21 harvest deliveries completed, we are holding postharvest meetings with local growers and strategic site committee chairs to discuss postharvest survey responses and harvest operations at an individual site level.

We have donated $3000 to regional community groups on behalf of local grain growers who nominated them when completing our survey.

The postharvest survey donations are a great opportunity to provide further support to regional communities where Viterra operates and the majority of its employees and customers live and work.

Congratulations to the three survey winners and their nominated community groups:

  • Tysan Mickan – Cummins and District War Memorial Swimming Pool,
  • Kingsley MacDonald – Navigator College Port Lincoln, and
  • Robin Schwartz – Waterloo District War Memorial Association.
