I started as a harvest worker in 2017. From there I became an operator, then assistant supervisor, then site supervisor and now I am operations coordinator for sites in the Thevenard region.
My role
My role has a great combination of management and strategy and being out and about on the ground with my teams.
In a leadership role in Viterra’s operations, you feel a real sense of pride in the work you’re doing. You’re dealing with local growers’ businesses and livelihoods. You receive grain from the local farms and then help to send it all around the globe to feed people, it’s really incredible to be a part of.
Throughout the years I have developed new skills, and received formal qualifications with Viterra to help me get to where I am now in the business.
My favourite thing about working for Viterra
Other than the variety of the role, I love working with a diverse group of people. Especially at harvest, we have a real mix of ages, nationalities and interests all interacting and banding together to get the job done. Its also a real team feeling all year round.
I also really appreciate the support I’ve received from everyone I’ve worked with along the way at all stages of my career.
