Viterra sites setting new records

Sites across Viterra’s network have been breaking daily receival records this harvest as total receivals hit more than 4.3 million tonnes.

Viterra has been working closely with growers and extending hours until late when they’ve needed it enabling growers to continue delivering right through until they have finished harvesting for the day.

Backed by its large workforce, Viterra is able to quickly respond to growers’ changing needs and run double shifts to remain open, while ensuring the safety of its employees, grower and carrier customers and communities.

Equally, the business has been working hard to have growers’ trucks unloaded as quickly as possible while ensuring classification and quality standards are maintained so that South Australian grain continues to have access to multiple domestic and export markets.

On the Eyre Peninsula, Viterra’s Lock site was the first to break a record on Monday 9 November with 8,365 tonnes delivered; 400 tonnes more than its previous.

Just over a week later, Viterra’s Port Lincoln site broke its record and has since done so twice more, the most recent seeing more than 13,675 tonnes delivered into the site on Thursday 26 November.

In the Central region, Roseworthy broke its daily receival record on Thursday 26 November with 17,156 tonnes.

The next in line was Viterra’s Tailem Bend site in the Eastern region which broke its record a few days later on Monday 30 November with 17,475 tonnes delivered.

A new season record has recently been set for Viterra’s Werrimull site with more than 81,000 tonnes delivered, as well as breaking its daily receival record two days in a row on Tuesday 17 November and Wednesday 18 November with 4,636 tonnes and 5,061 tonnes delivered respectively.

These large receival days came during the biggest couple of weeks of harvest to date with days taking in more than 200,000 tonnes across the network.

It is a great achievement for Viterra employees who have done an outstanding job at managing these big volume days safely and efficiently.

The business congratulates growers and carriers for breaking these records and thanks them for their support and helping to ensure operations are running smoothly on site.

Growers have provided great feedback on opening hours and other services and Viterra will continue to work with them to provide a service that is valuable and efficient.
