Viterra’s Lock site had its highest receival day on record on Monday 9 November with 8,365 tonnes delivered as total receivals in the network notched just over one million tonnes.
The previous daily receival record for the site was during the 2016/17 record harvest with 7,926 tonnes.
Viterra’s employees are an asset to the business and it is a credit to them for managing the busiest receival day on record particularly early on into harvest.
Viterra is pleased with the level of support the site has had from growers and carriers, and congratulates them on breaking the record and their efforts at site which has helped operations run smoothly.
Viterra has been working hard to ensure growers are being turned around as quickly as possible so they can get their crops off.
The business has received great feedback on its flexible opening hours which are being extended until late when growers need it.
Backed by its large workforce, Viterra is able to quickly adapt to growers’ changing needs and run double shifts to remain open, while ensuring the safety of its employees, grower customers and communities.
Growers delivering into Viterra sites can also benefit from its new warehouse to cash service which was released prior to harvest. It enables growers to instantly sell and transfer warehoused grain to a cash price without needing to contact the buyer. The service is available through Ezigrain on the Viterra app or website.
Viterra continuously works towards providing a valuable and efficient service to grower customers and looks forward to continuing to do so as the weather warms up and growers have a good run of harvesting.
