Three South Australian community groups will benefit to the tune of $3000 from a Viterra donation on behalf of grain growers’ who won a recent post harvest survey competition.
Growers who completed the survey were eligible to win the community donation offered by Viterra, with the three winners selecting the local beneficiaries.
The survey is conducted after each harvest to gain valuable feedback from growers about Viterra’s performance and seek suggestions for future improvements.
Viterra uses that feedback to help inform and review its operations for the next harvest. As an example, positive grower feedback on Viterra’s wheat dynamic binning service led to the introduction of barley dynamic binning.
Grower feedback through previous surveys also prompted the development of the new Viterra app as an improvement to its online platforms to make it easier for growers to access important information.
The latest survey showed around 75 per cent of respondents used Viterra’s new app with the majority being satisfied or very satisfied with its features. Viterra will work on further developments and maintenance of its online platforms to ensure they remain up to date and easy to use.
Results from the survey also showed the majority of grower respondents believed the standard of Viterra’s overall service delivery had improved this year compared to last year, and in recent years the percentage of growers who have seen an improvement in service has continued to increase.
Of the services available at a Viterra site, respondents gave classification and opening hours the highest rating.
Receival and elevation equipment was recognised as an area with opportunity for further enhancements, with Viterra committed to its continued investment of $40 million into its sites each year, directed to where it will provide the greatest value for growers.
Viterra looks forward to further discussions with growers in the coming weeks to gain a full picture of the feedback provided.
The three survey winners and their nominated community groups who will each receive a $1000 donation are:
- Brian Turnbull, Yeelanna who nominated the Cummins and District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
- Matt Dare, Marola who nominated the Brinkworth Country Fire Service
- James Horstmann, Nildottie who nominated the Swan Reach Country Fire Service.
