South Australian growers will have the opportunity to hear about the latest market topics from relevant industry bodies and end-users at multiple meetings across the state next week, organised by Glencore Agriculture.
Attendees will hear the latest from Tony Russell, Executive Manager of the Grains Industry Market Access Forum about the ongoing Chinese Government anti-dumping investigation into Australian barley, the importance of MRLs and market access for Australian grains and pulses.
Intergrain’s Marketing Manager, Ashleigh Brooks and South Australian Manager, Joshua Reichstein will provide an update on existing and upcoming barley varieties, marketing opportunities into Asia and market access for IMI tolerant barley varieties.
Growers will have the opportunity to taste Shochu, a Japanese spirit made by Sanwa. Sanwa buy South Australian barley to make their high quality Shochu. Representatives visiting South Australia from Japan will talk to attendees about the process of making Shochu.
Other guest speakers include Glencore Agriculture’s Barley Trader Jonathon Evans and Viterra’s Commerical and Logistics Manager, James Murray.
The meetings will be followed by a meal and refreshments provided by Glencore Agriculture and attendees will have a chance to speak with presenters and Glencore Agriculture employees.
Meetings will be held across three days – Tuesday 11 June, Wednesday 12 June and Thursday 13 June in Crystal Brook, Sevenhill, Minlaton, Wallaroo and Cummins.
