Glencore Agriculture and Viterra was pleased to sponsor two agriculture events last week, Thriving Women Conference 2020 and the Southern Australia Durum Growers Association Forum.
Glencore Agriculture and Viterra hosted a group of grain growers and employees to attend the Thriving Women’s Conference 2020. A two day conference held in the Adelaide Hills, the event is aimed to help women in agriculture grow and develop, as well as meet likeminded others.
The conference had four themes, women’s voices, doing business, looking after yourself, and innovation and entrepreneurs. It provided an opportunity for women in the industry to come together, network and learn about a range of topics delivered in presentations and smaller workshops that provided insight and knowledge for both professional and personal development. Topics included health and safety in the workplace, rural women in leadership, and strategic planning and decision making for farm businesses.
The Southern Australia Durum Growers Association Forum (SADGA) was also held last week at the University of Adelaide. Grower attendees listened to industry guest speakers talk about durum breeding programmes, domestic levels of durum and global demand.
Glencore Agriculture sponsors SADGA and Glencore Agriculture Grain Merchant Nick Jordan was invited to speak about domestic and global demand for durum.
Glencore Agriculture is one of the largest global traders of durum and Nick provided a range of information including Australia’s contribution to the global market, world production, a review of the last season and what’s expected for the coming season.
Glencore Agriculture and Viterra sponsor a range of grower groups and community initiatives as part of its contribution to regional communities.
