Growers and carriers provide positive ratings on harvest delivery experience

Viterra has published a summary of results from its 2024/25 postharvest survey, with insights from growers and carriers on their experience delivering to Viterra this harvest.

The review includes a summary of the feedback received on the company’s storage and handling services, safety commitment and online platforms, and what it is doing in response.

Viterra General Manager Operations, Gavin Cavanagh says the postharvest survey plays an important part in Viterra’s harvest review process.

“Thank you to growers and carriers for taking time to complete the survey and provide feedback,” Gavin says.

“Your feedback helps us review what went well, where improvements could be made and what our customers value about the services we offer, all of which informs potential improvements and helps us plan for future harvests.”

Growers and carriers provided positive ratings on their experience delivering to Viterra sites. A majority of respondents rated segregations, service from Viterra employees, classification, receival/elevation equipment capacity, turnaround times and communication about site information either excellent or very good.

Opening hours were highlighted as an area for improvement at some sites. Viterra will continue to seek additional feedback from growers on opening hours to understand the survey responses at an individual site level.

Positive feedback through the survey reflects Viterra’s commitment to safety, and focus on ensuring everyone understands how they can keep themselves and others safe when attending our sites. 95% of growers and carriers agree or strongly agree that Viterra provides them with adequate information about safety requirements at site.

Some growers and carriers experienced performance issues when using the Viterra app this harvest, including when completing digital delivery advices, with respondents highlighting these services as areas for improvement. Viterra is working on having a new version of the Viterra app in place before the 2025/26 harvest with improved overall speed and usability.
