Viterra’s employees and grower customers gained valuable insights through attending Women Together Learning’s (WOTL’s) Thriving Women Conference earlier this month.
As a proud longstanding supporter of the event, Viterra is pleased to encourage and inspire women in the agriculture industry through its sponsorship.
Viterra also facilitated the attendance of six employees and grower customers from across regional South Australia, who travelled to Hahndorf for the two day event.
Attendees heard from keynote speakers and participated in toolbox sessions of their choice, which covered a large variety of topics such as leadership, decision making and optimising time.
The event also provided attendees the opportunity to network and connect with likeminded women in the industry.
Viterra Gladstone Operator, Bernie Butterick says the conference was important for women in agriculture and rural communities because they could learn from the experiences of others in similar situations.
"The event provided inspiration through the speakers' stories of overcoming obstacles. It highlighted how far we have come, and that there is still more to do for the future generations interested in agriculture," says Bernie.
"I appreciated the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of women who share a passion for agriculture. I gained skills to help me in my work, on our family farm, and my local community in Jamestown."
Mid north grower, Melissa Longmire says she found the Thriving Women committee very welcoming and the event offered valuable insights.
"As women, we naturally adapt to our surroundings and the conference theme reinforced that change is okay,” Melissa says.
“What stood out most to me were the real-life stories and how people handled their situations. There’s nothing more impactful than hearing someone's personal story and learning from their outcomes.”
Viterra is proud to support women in the agriculture industry and is pleased to offer the opportunity for employees and customers to attend events like this to develop in both their careers and personal lives.
