Viterra is recruiting for several positions across the state within its maintenance team, including roles for both entry level and experienced workers.
The successful candidates will be part of Viterra’s team of 1000 permanent and ongoing employees, who are joined by around 1500 seasonal workers each harvest, to play a critical role in helping the company connect growers’ grain to international and domestic markets.
At Port Giles and Bowmans, the company is looking for experienced maintenance electricians who hold an electrical worker’s licence (class A, South Australia) for its maintenance officer – electrical role.
This role is responsible for ensuring plant and equipment is maintained to the highest standard and running efficiently and safely, in order to maximise uptime and provide a reliable service to Viterra’s customers.
Duties include fault finding and repairs, developing and implementing solutions and strategies in response to equipment breakdowns, planning and executing preventative maintenance and involvement in capital projects.
Viterra also has an opportunity for a first year mechanical apprentice to join its experienced team at Port Lincoln. This hands on role will suit those with an interest in mechanical machinery, gearboxes, diesel and petrol engines and hydraulics.
The successful applicant will be supported through their four year mechanical apprenticeship, learning mechanical trade while gaining experience in the agriculture industry.
Duties include assisting the maintenance mechanical fitters to complete preventative maintenance and repairs on stationary and mobile plant.
The apprentice will also undergo paid formal training delivered by a registered training organisation, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
