Leading agriculture network Viterra has triumphed at the 2023 South Australian Premier’s Business and Export Awards on Friday evening in Adelaide, taking home two awards.
Viterra was announced as the winner of the South Australian Large Business Award, and the Regional Exporter Award at the gala event at the Adelaide Convention Centre which was attended by more than 600 people and hosted by Business SA in collaboration with the State Government.
The prestigious awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution local businesses make to the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of the South Australian community. Viterra was amongst more than 250 businesses to enter this year’s awards with 600 nominations received across 24 categories.
The Large Business Award acknowledges Viterra’s achievements over 12 months to May 2023, including completing the export task for the then record breaking 2021/22 harvest and receiving and exporting the newly record-breaking 2022/23 harvest.
The Regional Exporter Award recognises outstanding international success and Viterra’s exports of Australian grain with the majority of the company’s operations in regional South Australia. The award acknowledged Viterra’s achievements exporting the 2021/22 and 2022/23 harvests to end user customers around the world.
In accepting the awards, Viterra Chief Executive Officer, Philip Hughes acknowledged the significant role Viterra’s employees and grower and buyer customers play in the company’s success.
“These awards are a credit to our incredible employees, our grower customers for the world class quality grain they produce and our buyer customers for their support. Congratulations and thank you to everyone on this exciting win,” Philip says.
“We’re proud of our contribution to regional South Australia as a receiver, handler and major exporter of local grower’s grain.”
As a winner of a South Australian Premier’s Export Award, Viterra progresses to the national Australian Export and Investment Awards, which will be held in Canberra in on 30 November.
