Viterra has launched a new service at its Ardrossan site to benefit local growers and buyer customers.
Following a successful trial earlier this year, container packing is now available at Viterra Ardrossan.
This addition aims to service Viterra’s lentil grower customers on the Yorke Peninsula with benefits including shorter travel distances to deliver. The new service also provides increased flexibility to meet the needs of Viterra’s buyer customers, helping to boost export opportunities for South Australian growers’ grain.
Viterra East Coast Operations & Commercial Manager, Craig Gray says Viterra recognised there was a compelling case to introduce container packing at Ardrossan to service local lentil growers.
“The trial produced promising results and the customer who participated was really pleased and has placed a significant number of future packings through Ardrossan,” Craig says.
“We have just seen a bumper lentil harvest on the Yorke Peninsula, and this is an opportunity to build on the storage and handling service that we are already offering to local growers.
“There’s been a strong demand for the new service and the team at our Ardrossan site have continued to work on ways to pack efficiently and safely to fulfil contracts for containers throughout May.
“Our local team were the driving force behind the success of the trial and have worked really hard to bring this new service offering to the Yorke Peninsula, while working closely with our other container packing and processing sites across Australia.
“We are excited to be providing this service to our grower customers on the Yorke Peninsula and continue meeting the ongoing demand.”
