Viterra is inviting its grower customers to complete a planting survey to help guide the company’s segregation plan.
The short survey is used by the company each year to understand what has been planted and reflect any required changes to its segregations.
Viterra General Manager Operations Gavin Cavanagh says the survey is an important tool in ensuring the company’s service meets growers’ needs.
“The planting survey is a great way for us to ensure lots of growers needs are represented,” Gavin says.
“The more responses we receive, the better informed we are when planning our segregations.
“The information also helps us to maintain market access for local growers’ grain and ensure it meets the requirements of our end use customers.”
The survey asks growers about the commodities, varieties and hectares that they’ve sown for the season.
It also includes questions on genetically modified (GM) and non-GM canola again this year. Viterra is reviewing the sites that received GM canola for the first time last year and the results of this survey will help that process.
The survey can be accessed on the Viterra website and has been distributed to grower customers by email, SMS and push notification. It is quick to fill out on a phone, tablet or computer.
Those who would prefer to provide feedback over the phone are encouraged to contact their local operations coordinator, operations supervisor or Viterra on 1800 018 205.
Growers who complete the survey (with a National Grower Register number) by Sunday 17 July, are eligible to win one of three $1000 donations to a community group of their choice. Last year’s winners were Trevor Cliff from Eyre Peninsula who nominated Kimba Show Society, Greg Klopp from Yorke Peninsula who nominated Maitland Apex Group and a grower who stayed anonymous and nominated Kapunda Homes.
Viterra will share a summary of results with grower customers by email and the Viterra website.
