Western region receivals 9,576 tonnes 10,854 tonnes
Central region receivals 2,784 tonnes 2,784 tonnes

Deliveries are now underway across each of Viterra’s regions, with a load of H2 wheat to Port Pirie by local grower, Stephen Mudge kicking off harvest in the Central region on Monday 21 October. Growers delivered a total of 14,000 tonnes during the week, with 15 Viterra sites receiving their first new season deliveries.

The majority of tonnes delivered were barley, followed by lentils and wheat. We also received the first 2024/25 season deliveries of canola and field peas.

Viterra Western region Operations Manager, Nick Pratt says 10 Eyre Peninsula sites received their first loads during the week, including four which received their first ever lentil deliveries.

“To support EP growers who increased lentil plantings, we are receiving the commodity for the first time this harvest at Tumby Bay, Warramboo, Arno Bay, Cummins and Thevenard,” Nick says.

“Arno Bay, Tumby Bay, Warramboo and Cummins received their first 2024/25 season deliveries last week, all of which were lentils. This follows on from the first lentil delivery at Thevenard a couple of weeks ago.

“Our employees are ready to continue to assist growers with their deliveries as they are ready.”

Nick says Rudall was also among the sites to receive their first delivery last week, marking a milestone as the first delivery through the site’s new and extended weighbridges.

“We installed a new 48 metre weighbridge as well as added an eight metre extension to the existing 40 metre weighbridge to improve efficiencies,” Nick says.

“This investment allows us to accommodate larger trucks at site, and having an additional weighbridge will improve turnaround times for our customers, it’s great to see growers start to use the new equipment.”

This upgrade is part of the $75 million we invested in our supply chain this year to create value for growers and make the southern Australian supply chain more efficient to compete with interstate and international markets.

Viterra sites to receive the first 2024/25 harvest deliveries last week included Ardrossan, Arno Bay, Cummins, Inner Harbour, Kimba, Port Lincoln, Lock, Penong, Port Pirie, Rudall, Snowtown, Tooligie, Tumby Bay, Wallaroo and Warramboo.

As deliveries continue to begin at sites across our network, we are working closely with growers to ensure sites are open when they are ready to deliver.
