Viterra received the first grower delivery for the 2024/25 harvest last Thursday, with a load of Commodus barley delivered to our Thevenard site in the Western region. For the week, 126 tonnes of barley and lentils were delivered to the site.
The lentils delivered on Friday by Penong grower, Ben Polkinghorne marked the first ever delivery of the commodity to Thevenard where we added a segregation this harvest to support growers who have planted more lentils.
Deliveries are yet to commence at Viterra’s Central and Eastern region sites.
Viterra General Manager Operations, Gavin Cavanagh says it is always good to kick off the first delivery and Viterra is ready to support growers’ deliveries this season.
“In a season like this where growers are looking at below average production, a flexible and efficient network is incredibly important,” Gavin says.
“We’re in constant contact with our grower customers to understand when they will be ready to deliver and will work our operations around their requirements.”
