Growers delivered 2470 tonnes to Viterra last week, with the majority of tonnes delivered to sites in our Western region. Barley, field peas and lentils continued to be delivered, as well as the first loads of canola for the season.
During the week, our Yeelanna site received its first 2022/23 delivery, even with rain continuing to interrupt the beginning of harvest.
Our sites are ready for deliveries once weather permits, and we are working closely with growers to understand when this will be to match our opening hours to when they want to deliver.
Despite the slow start, Viterra’s new grower relationship managers are geared up for their first harvest in the role.
Growers working with Viterra will benefit from the extra support of grower relationship managers Kym Scott and Todd Stanford who are available to ensure Viterra is meeting their needs.
Viterra General Manager Accumulation & Grower Services, Andrew Wilsdon says the grower relationship managers are providing personalised assistance across all key business areas, including operational, technical, and marketing matters.
“We understand that our grower customers rely on expert advice and reliable support, particularly over the harvest season where quick and confident decision making is essential,” Andrew says.
“Being able to have assistance from someone who is easily reachable, local and knows the industry inside out will be invaluable for them.”
Viterra Western region Grower Relationship Manager Kym Scott, who has been in operational roles with the company since 2009, says he is looking forward to continuing to help growers hone their business solutions in this new role.
“We have such a fantastic grower community on the Eyre Peninsula and West Coast, it’ll be great to work with growers this harvest and into the future,” Kym says.
Viterra Eastern region Grower Relationship Manager Todd Stanford, says his ongoing experience of over 10 years as grower services manager will bring a wealth of knowledge to benefit growers.
“My aim in this role is to ensure that our growers are getting the best service from Viterra and are aware of all that we offer. I’m also excited to meet more growers and learn about their businesses,” Todd says.
Kym and Todd are currently in the process of connecting with local growers and introducing them to the assistance they can offer as we lead into harvest. Learn more about our new grower relationship managers.
