Harvest started picking up last week with Viterra receiving over 50,000 tonnes of grain, bringing total receivals to 54,000 tonnes for the 2018/19 season.

A majority of receivals were in the Central region. The Eastern region received its first load, with a delivery of barley to its Walpeup site on Tuesday 23 October. Barley made up a majority of receivals across the network.

As more sites open for harvest receivals and deliveries increase, growers are encouraged to visit the Viterra website for opening hours and segregation information.

The Western region received 3,087 tonnes for the week, with a number of sites receiving their first loads.

A majority of deliveries have been barley with some wheat and peas being received.

The Central region received 46,836 tonnes. Sites towards the north of the region have taken a majority of the deliveries, with sites on the Yorke Peninsula and lower north opening for their first deliveries.

Barley was the most significant portion of deliveries with some wheat and peas delivered.

The Eastern region received its first load of the season into its Walpeup site on Tuesday 23 October. It was the first ever barley load received to the site, with barley segregations being offered for the first time this year following feedback from growers.

Tailem Bend also received its first load of grain on Friday 26 October.
