More than 776,000 tonnes of grain was received into Viterra sites last week, bringing total receivals to 2.2 million. This has been the largest week of the season so far.
The largest receival day of the season came on Tuesday 21 November with 237,000 tonnes received into Viterra sites.
Significant rain from Wednesday again prevented harvest from getting into full swing.
Western region sites took in 174,715 tonnes of grain over the past week with rain halting harvest for many growers in the region.
Arno Bay set a new daily receival record on Monday 20 November with 6,592 tonnes taken on the day. This is a huge achievement by employees, growers and carriers.
The shipping season got underway at Port Lincoln last week with the state’s third-largest grain vessel ever to leave our shores. About 74,000 tonnes of new and old season wheat and barley was loaded onto the Adriana Rose, headed to the Middle East.
The Central region has passed the 1 million tonne mark for total season receivals after 362,782 tonnes of grain was delivered to sites last week.
Snowtown achieved a new daily receival record of 13,029 tonnes on Monday 20 November – a credit to all employees, growers and carriers.
Despite rain also impacting Eastern region growers, more than half of the region’s total was taken over the past week.
A new faba bean (FABF) segregation has opened at Bordertown, Keith and Coonalpyn to help meet growers’ needs.
Shipping commenced at the Adelaide terminals last week with two wheat vessels loaded. About 40,000 tonnes of wheat was exported from Outer Harbor and 32,000 tonnes from Inner Harbour.
