Harvest has started to pick up over the past week with nearly 21,000 tonnes of grain received in the Viterra system. Barley has made up the majority of receivals so far.

Viterra has launched a new Cumulative Receival Report for growers and buyers in EziGrain this week, to give them access to aggregated grade information to assist with their marketing decisions.

The report provides growers and buyers with commodity volumes by aggregated grade groups for wheat and barley within each port zone.

It will help make cumulative receival information more visible to growers on a weekly basis, particularly for wheat and barley. Growers will be able to better understand how their ownership fits the profile of these commodities in the Viterra network, then use it as part of the suite of tools available to them in making their marketing decisions.

The information is available to growers and buyers on a “commercial in confidence” basis in a secure area of EziGrain. Public information will still be available via the Weekly Harvest Report and the Quality Statistics by grade and site that Viterra publishes on its website each harvest.

More than 9,000 tonnes of grain was delivered into nine sites in the Western region over the past week, with Thevenard, Cowell and Arno Bay the busiest sites. Port Lincoln is also receiving a number of wheat grades and canola from outside the local delivery zone in preparation for shipping.

Sites in the Central region received over 11,000 tonnes last week, with Wallaroo, Crystal Brook and Roseworthy receiving their first deliveries. Port Pirie continues to be the busiest site, with most growers in the area now harvesting.

Lentils have also started to come into Two Wells, harvested from around the Port Germein and Crystal Brook areas.

The first loads of grain for the Eastern region were received into Monarto South and Strathalbyn last week. Barley and peas were the commodities delivered.
