Last week 361,000 tonnes of grain were delivered into the Viterra network. This takes our total receivals for the 2018/19 harvest up to 1,988,000 tonnes.
We received the most grain over the weekend when close to 90,000 tonnes were delivered on both Saturday and Sunday, the majority of which were delivered into the Western region.
Scattered rain at the start of the week slowed activity in the region, but receivals picked up with the warmer weather later in the week. 130,000 tonnes of the total 180,000 tonnes received for the week were delivered over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Deliveries of wheat are increasing as growers finish up their barley harvest. There has also been an increase in pulses being delivered as a result of the cooler weather.
111,000 tonnes were received in the Central region last week, of which the majority were received into sites in the mid north, down to Roseworthy and the Yorke Peninsula.
Receivals into the region increased towards the end of the week after a slower start, but windy conditions reduced deliveries on Sunday.
The Eastern region received nearly 67,000 tonnes which was the busiest week for the region so far this harvest. Canola the most delivered commodity.
The Eastern region’s receivals for the 2018/19 harvest are at 187,000 tonnes.
