Local growers have gradually continued to deliver peas into Viterra's Port Neill site since the first load arrived at the site almost two weeks ago.
Viterra Chief Operations Officer James Murray says it’s exciting to see the beginnings of harvest and that the company is well prepared.
“We seek feedback from our grower customers and in response have introduced new grower services for this harvest, including multiple cash payment options,” James says.
Growers and buyers now have more choice and flexibility for their grain transactions, including Viterra’s new extended payment terms which enables growers to transfer their grain through warehouse to cash, to a cash price. It has longer payment terms compared to those generally offered for daily cash prices.
Viterra will also have sustainable cash available at sites for the first time, in addition to being able to access it through warehouse to cash. Growers can sell their grain to a sustainable cash price if they have met the buyer’s sustainability requirements.
Growers also have the option to immediately transact to a daily cash price with standard payment terms at site or through warehouse to cash.
“It's very pleasing to introduce these services so our grower and buyer customers have even greater options to sell and purchase grain. They further enhance warehouse to cash, which enables growers to instantly sell and transfer their warehoused grain to a cash price,” James says.
The Viterra app has undergone significant enhancements ahead of the 2021/22 harvest including the digital delivery advice which saves growers’ time and streamlines their grain delivery process. A new main menu will be released soon with improved navigation, and growers can access a customisable snapshot of their account without needing to login.
