Viterra received more than 1.2 million tonnes of grain across South Australian sites in the past week – bringing the overall receivals to almost 4.9 million tonnes for the 2016/17 harvest.
A number of Viterra sites broke their daily receival records last week including Port Lincoln (12,889 tonnes), Crystal Brook (5,952 tonnes) and Murray Bridge (1,435 tonnes).
All Viterra ports loaded vessels in the past week with 191,000 tonnes of grain being exported.
The Western region had another busy week receiving more than half a million tonnes of grain across all sites.
Viterra’s Port Lincoln site broke its daily receival record bringing in nearly 13,000 tonnes of grower receivals on Wednesday 7 December – its biggest day since the 2010/11 harvest.
Thevenard has broken its season receival record, with total receivals now more than 359,000. The port has also loaded five vessels of new season grain since harvest started.
In the Central region, grain receivals were flowing with more than half a million tonnes delivered into sites last week. The region had its busiest day of the season for receivals on Sunday 11 December, taking in over 98,000 tonnes of grain.
Viterra’s Crystal Brook site broke its daily receival record taking in 5,952 tonnes of grain on Wednesday 7 December – its biggest day since the 2013/14 harvest.
Grain receivals in the Eastern region remained strong with more than 226,000 tonnes delivered into the system in the past week.
Viterra’s Murray Bridge site broke its daily receival record, receiving 1,435 tonnes of grain on Wednesday 7 December – beating its record from last year’s harvest.
