Less than 700 tonnes of grain was delivered to the Viterra network over the past month.

Grain exports out of Viterra have reached more than 3.7 million tonnes so far this season.

Viterra has released its 2017/18 post harvest report after seeking feedback from growers about its operations and customer service through a grower survey and silo committee meetings.

The report found growers were generally pleased with Viterra’s service delivery, with the company’s services given a 74% (very good) satisfaction rating. 90% of survey respondents believed the overall service delivery and operations had remained the same or improved from the previous year.

To further improve its services, Viterra has significant investments in capital works and maintenance planned for the coming year including:

  • Purchasing an additional six new drive-over-hopper and stacker sets and upgrading 13 existing sets to improve elevation capacity. By the end of 2018, two thirds of Viterra’s drive-over-hopper and stacker fleet will have been upgraded in the past four years.
  • Purchasing two new 40 metre weighbridges to improve turnaround times for growers.
  • Investing in shed sealing projects at Roseworthy, Snowtown and Cummins to ensure maximum grain storage and availability of segregations.
  • Continuing to consult with growers and refine segregations to reflect changing varietal trends and seasonal conditions, particularly in malting barley with Compass and Spartacus being malting accredited.

Viterra looks forward to further strengthening its relationships with growers and continuing to make improvements to service delivery for future harvests.
