Viterra’s South Australian sites received 1,426 tonnes of grain over the past month.
Bulk exports from the network have risen to 6.8 million tonnes for the 2016/17 season – the largest total shipped in five years.
Viterra is committed to moving grain to port in the most efficient and cost effective way possible and has strong partnerships with its rail and road operators.
The company has moved more than 2.5 million tonnes on rail this year, with nearly 800,000 tonnes of this on the Eyre Peninsula rail lines.
Viterra recently extended its rail agreement with Genesee & Wyoming Australia on the Eyre Peninsula until March 2019, allowing all stakeholders to examine the long term future of the region’s rail network.
As harvest approaches, growers and carriers wishing to make deliveries to a Viterra site are reminded they need to complete Viterra’s new Safety Induction and receive a new Safety Card.
This verifies they are up to date with the relevant safety requirements relating to Viterra sites. For more information and to complete the Safety Induction, visit viterra.com.au.
