Eastern region receivals*** | 11,494 tonnes | 723,985 tonnes |
Close to 30,000 tonnes of grain were received into 30 Viterra sites in the past month. The majority of grain was delivered into the Central region with our Port Giles site receiving the most.
Viterra is continuing to provide delivery options and encourages growers to deliver grain before the post harvest delivery procedure commences on 1 March.
In the past month, strong demand for domestic rail movements has seen more than 20 trains loaded for domestic markets. This takes our total trains loaded since domestic demand began in August 2018 up to 165.
In contrast to the same time last year, when our outturns were predominantly rail focused, our road, bulk vessel and container packing supply chains are currently all also very busy outturning South Australian grain to international and domestic markets.
Employees across our business are working together to safely and efficiently manage the movement of grain to where it is needed for outturn.
