Almost 115,000 tonnes of grain were received into our network in the past two weeks, the majority of which were delivered into our Eastern region.
Although receivals have slowed right down across the state, 36 sites received grain between 23 December and 5 January as Viterra continues to offer delivery options for growers.
The majority of deliveries into Viterra sites was grain from on farm storage, apart from in the south east, where receivals were from growers finishing up their harvest.
Larger sites in the Central and Western regions and many sites in the Eastern region remain open, and growers are able to make deliveries by appointment at selected smaller sites.
We have had a busy two weeks loading five trains destined for the east coast. Our Gladstone, Snowtown and Bowmans sites have loaded the trains with wheat, barley and canola. Vessels have also been loaded at our Port Giles, Thevenard and Port Lincoln export terminals.
Our annual post harvest grower survey opened last week to gain growers’ feedback on our 2019/20 harvest operations. We rely on the feedback to continuously improve and provide a valuable and efficient service in future harvests. The survey is available on the Viterra website and growers who provide their details before 11.59pm Monday 27 January are entered in the draw to win one of three $1000 donations to a community group of their choice.
