Monthly receivals report

Monday 2 July to Sunday 5 August 2018 report

  2 July to 5 August 2018 Total 2017/18 harvest**
Viterra total receivals* 291 tonnes 5,667,489 tonnes
Western region receivals 26 tonnes 1,554,791 tonnes
Central region receivals 0 tonnes 2,762,789 tonnes
Eastern region receivals*** 265 tonnes 1,349,909 tonnes

Viterra received just under 300 tonnes of grain during July, adding little to its 5.6 million tonne total.

Grain exports out of the Viterra network have reached 4.8 million tonnes for the season.

Looking ahead to 2018/19, Viterra is pleased to be giving growers the opportunity to have their wheat upgraded with the introduction of dynamic binning.

Viterra’s dynamic binning service will allow for potential upgrades to ASW1, APW1, H2 or H1. It will be provided to growers instantly at classification and the grain will be immediately available to transact.

Under the program, growers can be upgraded when the classification results for the load are within a pre-set tolerance zone for protein, screenings or test weight.

The higher grade will be given if all other quality requirements are met, including variety, contaminants and MRLs, and the average quality of the individual stack at the site continues to meet the receival standards.

If the rolling stack average falls below the GTA receival standards for protein, screenings or test weight, then dynamic binning will not be available for the grade into that stack until the average again meets grade receival standards.

Viterra will carefully monitor the quality of the grain going into storage while continuing to ensure that grain outturned meets the requirements of end-use customers.

Significant investments have been made to Viterra’s grain IT systems which can now monitor the quality of stacks in real time. This has allowed dynamic binning to be introduced with confidence that customers’ outturn requirements can continue to be met.

More information is available on the Viterra website.
