Viterra utilises International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) as part of our focus on sourcing commodities from sustainable supply chains and meeting end use customers’ needs. Growers must complete an ISCC declaration if you wish to sell sustainable commodities.
ISCC is a globally applicable certification system that verifies sustainability principles for biobased food, feed and renewables. It is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, using land sustainably, protecting natural biospheres and being socially sustainable.

How to declare your farm as sustainable
From July 2024, you will need to complete a self assessment through the SGA online portal each year prior to completing the ISCC declaration through myNGR.
The self assessment is designed to provide a quick overview of your farming operations in relation to ISCC requirements, so you can assess ahead of the declaration whether your operations and documentation will comply with the ISCC requirements. Learn more.
Once you have completed the self assessment through the SGA online portal, complete your sustainability declaration with NGR by logging on to myNGR. For assistance, contact NGR on 1800 556 630.
The declaration is linked to your NGR and is available to companies involved in SGA through the myNGR system.
All growers wishing to sell sustainable commodities are required to complete an ISCC declaration with NGR each year.
An audit may be carried out to ensure sustainability requirements are being met in which documentation such as spray diaries, agronomist recommendations, soil tests and paddock records are required as evidence. Please note, if you are audited, commercially sensitive information can be redacted before supplying the documents required to confirm your sustainability credentials.
